Encased Farthings are coins that have been inserted into a holder that changes the character of the coin from money to an advertising or souvenir device. The concept was really popularised from around 1900 and was used extensively throughout the 20th century for advertising.
I have tried to provide as much detailed information as possible of each individual Encased Farthing. If you are able to add to any of the details or you think that I may have omitted any information, please contact me on the form at the bottom of this page.
I am also interested in images of any encased farthing to assist me in my research to prepare a catalogue of the different Advertisers & Varieties of encapsulated farthings that have been made and the dates of their encased farthings.
