Commonly known as Lucky Farthings, Ringed Farthings, & Encased Farthings, these tokens were produced as an advertising medium for businesses. These items were more popular in the USA where a multitude of examples has been produced by several manufacturers. In the UK there is very little known information about these pieces hence my attempt to catalog and list any examples that come to light. The main producer of the UK versions was J.R.Gaunt.
